Description

AbdoCare, specifically designed for postoperative use, is made of an elastic material which permits hook closure to fasten anywhere onto the material. The closure adheres anywhere on the binder which allows the correct amount of compression and ensures a custom fit for the patient. The binder provides efficient pain relief and support/compression of the abdomen while enabling early mobilization of the patient. 

AbdoCare is available in sizes up to 240 cm long and in height up to 37 cm, to also accommodate the very large patient’s abdomen. If needed, the binder can be cut to adjust its length and height. It is also possible to cut a hole in the material if necessary, to uncover a stoma or drainage. Color white.

Indications

Postoperative girdle after abdominal/trunk surgery. Stabilizes in case of hernia/stoma. Preventive against hernia. 

Contraindications

Incarcerated hernia. Infection.

Materials and care instructions

Polyester 65%, Nylon 19%, Elastane 16%. Latex free. Washing instructions: Can be washed at 95°C approx. 10 times. The lifetime of the product increases when washed at 40-60°C. Seal the Velcros. Use washing bag. Do not bleach. Do not dry clean. Do not iron. Do not tumble dry.

Size guide and measuring

In order to determine the correct size, measure circumference of the abdomen of the intended placement. 

1: 75-100 cm 

2: 95-120 cm 

3: 115-140 cm 

4: 140-190 cm 

To determine size, measure the largest scope measure over intended placement, e.g. abdomen, hip or chest.

Note that the belts are small in size. If the dimension around the intended placement belongs to the upper half of size 1 or 2, preferably choose the size above. This usually gives a better fit and the ability to adjust support and compression to a greater extent.
