Ostomy

A stoma is an opening through the abdominal wall which is created to change the bowel or bladder emptying path and lead out urine and faeces into a stoma bag called a stoma bandage. The opening is made with a surgical procedure. You can get a stoma due to disease or injury in the intestines or urinary tract and the stoma can be either permanent or temporary. To keep the ostomy bag in place, you can use an ostomy belt or girdle.
