Wrist braces

Many wrist problems can be helped by a wrist support or wrist brace. By stabilizing and relieving the wrist, pain and the risk of new injuries are usually reduced. Wrist braces with splint provides extra support and counteracts unfavorable bending.

Wrist support for osteoarthritis

With osteoarthritis in the wrist, joint cartilage wears down, which often leads to stiffness, pain, slight swelling and reduced strength and mobility. Daily exercise helps increase mobility, strengthen muscles and reduce pain. To alleviate the pain during exercise and movement, a wrist brace is advantageously used to provide comfortable support and relief. The movement in the joint decreases and thus the pain. Choose a wrist brace with splint for optimal stability and pain relief.

Support for wrist in case of overload

If you have been doing one-sided movements for a long time or movements you are unused to, you can suffer from overstrained muscles around the wrist. Then the joint often hurts when bending and twisting. Some overuse injuries involving inflammation of the muscle attachment have been given names such as tennis elbow, golfer's elbow or mouse elbow. When an overused wrist shows signs of swelling, throbbing pain, redness, warmth, or decreased strength and mobility, it is likely inflamed. To reduce swelling, it is good to rest and relieve the hand with a wrist orthosis that provides stability and compression.

Wrist brace for carpal tunnel syndrome

In carpal tunnel syndrome, the nerves are pinched between the bones of the wrist and a strong ligament. It can cause numbness in the thumb, index finger and middle finger in particular and a pain that often increases at night. To alleviate the discomfort, you should avoid bent wrists when sleeping. You can then use a wrist orthoses against carpal tunnel syndrome to stabilize the hand and reduce the pain. Even during the day, a wrist brace can ensure that the hand is kept in the correct position and prevents strong and sudden bending.

Wrist orthoses for sprained wrist

A sprain means that ligaments and joint capsules are overstretched. Often it is due to falling on your hand or receiving a hard ball or similar. The wrist can then swell and hurt. In the event of a sprain, it is recommended to wrap and rest the hand and hold it high. You can also cool down to get pain relief. A wrist orthosis or taping can facilitate healing and reduce the risk of new injuries. The hand orthosis can also help prevent sprains and is therefore good to use when there is an increased risk of damaging the wrist.

After plastering

In the event of a fracture, a wrist orthosis can provide support and pain relief after the cast is removed. The orthosis can then be used during the rehabilitation period to increase the chances of a quick, efficient and safe recovery.
